Doug Laird: Reno, Nevada, United States; I'm an avid motorcycle rider and have toured all states except Hawaii. In 2011 I rode the length of the Western Hemisphere - Prudhoe Bay, Alaska to Ushuaia, Argentina, on my 2010 R1200GS. Sara joined me and rode pillion from Bogota, Colombia to Bariloche, Argentina. In 2014 I rode around the world on my 2013 BMW R1200GS. The 98 day trip was August - November. The route was the Northern Hemisphere, so we flew the bike from Vancouver to Seoul, S. Korea, then rode across S. Korea to Dong Hau to catch the overnight ferry to Vladivostok. Sara joined me in Saint Petersburg,Russia and we rode Europe and the U.K. together before flying to Toronto (with the Beemer). I dropped Sara off with friends in Ohio and continued home to Reno via Mobile, AL, where I visited my son. In 2016 Sara and I, with friends, rode from Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe to Cape Town, S. Africa via Botswana and Namibia giving me the 3rd corner of the world. When Sara said 'why don't you do the 4th corner' the planning started.
