Caldera to La Serena, Chile

We left at 09:00 today. Wish I could say that it was after another great breakfast, but...

It was a very nice ride across high desert and then over a range down to the ocean. A dramatic drop in temperature as we crossed the summit.










Our hotel in La Serena. Very basic.

The new rear tire is doing fine but when they installed the tire at the Yamaha Dealer in Antofagasta they broke the stem on the vale mechanism. The result being, I can't add air to the tire. Stopped at a big motorcycle shop here in La Serena and had them replace the broken valve stem but they only had a rubber one, so had to remove the sending unit. I'll try to get the unit fixed in Santiago on Saturday.

We got here at 15:00 with a 266 mile day.

Tomorrow we'll ride to Valparaiso and spend two nights there. Then one night in Santiago. On Monday the trip will resume.
