Lima to Nazca, Peru

Had to stop at a motorcycle shop and get chain lube for Dave so didn't hit the road until 09:45. (There are advantages to having a shaft drive.) The GPS got us out of town and on to the PanAmerican Highway. Sometime it works very well.

As we headed south we came up a military exercise. Those specs are parachutes.

Crossing inland from the Pacific Ocean we crossed some interesting geography. Reminded me of Death Valley.

We stopped to see the Nazca 'lines'.

About 10 miles short of Nazca the two lane highway was closed due to a wreck.

The dump truck driver ate the steering wheel and died at the scene. The passenger was still pinned in and they used manpower to free him.

Believe it or not but the bus driver had only minor injuries and was walking around. One lucky man.

Our hotel in Nazca, Peru, the Casa Andina, right in the heart of town.

It was a 281 mile day getting us to Nazca at 17:00.
