Casma to Lima, Peru

Left at 07:45 this morning and followed Hwy. 1 to Lima. Great road all the way.

Our hotel the Antigua Miraflores is on the south side of Lima and thankfully the highway was well marked through Lima. A pleasant surprise. However, the traffic on the six lane freeway was bumper to bumper and it took us forty five minutes to cross the city.

Once we turned off the freeway we hired a taxi to get us to our hotel. We'd never have found it without help.

Still in the coast desert, notice that it runs right to the ocean.

Just north of Lima we ended up on a truck and bus only highway and were stopped by the police. No English but they felt sorry fir us and allowed us to continue to Lima. The highway is cut in to the side of the mountain. Impressive!

Our hotel for tonight, the Hotel Antigua Miraflores.

Of course I found a neat coffee shop on the corner.

It was a 238 mile day putting us at our hotel at 14:00.
