Quito, Ecuador

We were in Quito for another day today. What a great city.

We had the bikes serviced at the BMW dealer.

I went back to the hotel for a two hour conference call re: AFAUSSS and packed my warm weather gear to be mailed home.

Sara took the teleferique up Volcano Rucu Pichincha and then hiked up to 14,730 feet.

That's Quito from the mountain.
Volcanos pretty much in every direction.

This afternoon Ecuador played Peru in the lead up to the World Cup and won 2 to 0. The city went crazy.

Tomorrow we're off to Cuenca, claimed by many to be the most beautiful city in Ecuador. Our first challenge will be getting out of the city. If you think there are hills in San Francisco you haven't seen Quito. It's a city of three million and the hills in some parts of town are cobblestone.
