Bariloche to Gobernador Costa, Argentina

Left Sara in Bariloche this morning and headed south on Ruta 40.

Sara is hiking in the mountains you see in the background. We saw them as we left town this morning.

What a great sport she was on the Bogota to Bariloche leg of the Adventure, 4,998 miles from 10November to 7December. She really did great on the twistees of the Andes. For those who know CA#49, that's what we rode for the month, plus toss in a lot of trucks.

Anyway, as I ride Sara is hiking in Patagonia. Her sister Izzy arrives from Fargo tonight.

Stopped for lunch in Esquel. The hamburger is as big as a dinner plate.

The ride to Gobernador Costa was good, the road is fine but the wind really makes it work. The wind is constant but it's the sudden blasts that really cause one to pay attention.

Got here at 15:45 and found the Motel Roca without the assistance of a taxi. It's on the main street running through town.

We've seen five bikes, all Beemers, heading north today. Sitting here at the Motel Roca, Pat Colleran pulled in on a Beemer. He's from Denver. Pat rented the Beemer in Santiago and rode down to Ushuaia and is now heading back to Santiago. We'll have dinner together tonight and compare notes.

It's starting to cloud up, maybe we'll have rain sooner than expected.

Ushuaia awaits.
